No more Schill
Well, at least we son't have to worry about Wellsy's pitching for at least a month. But now we have Schill hitting the disabled list too. That leaves us with a starting rotation of Clement, Arroyo, Wake, Halama and an undetermined. That is, at least untill Wade comes back hopefully on May 9th. If all goes well today and Tuesday in his rehab starts, the Miller gambit will begin to take effect. Let's hope its not like the BK gambit in any way.
Actually, I don't think that its such a bad rotation. If you look at what Schill and Wells have been doing, they had one, maybe two quality sarts between them. I feel confident with Arroyo getting playing time and I like the way Wakefield's been pitching. Clement looks like he's gonna come around as soon as he stops picthing against the big two bats in our division (Yanks and O's), and I think Halama has the experience to step up the game and give us some quality starts. Halama has over 100 career starts. All and all, I think we'll get two over five hundred in the span until Wade makes his first start.
Unrelated to baseball, I was just reading in article in the post (http://www.nypost.com) in which Damon Jones of the Miami Heat (http://www.nba.com/heat/) shot back against Charles Barkley for making comments about his sunglasses. While the article is funny, what got me was when Jones said this, "There's no egos, I don' think so. The biggest ego in the locker room is mine."
Now this got me thinking about the 'Celts and Ricky Davis. Davis is definatly the ego, the Jones character of the Celtics. So when Shaquile O'Neil said "I'm not going to about that nonsense and get too big for our britches," about going up 4-0 against the Nets, it got me thinking that the Celtics should really do more of this stuff. Where are the coaches to stop Ricky from getting too big for his britches. Where are the veterans (Pierce, 'Toine, Payton) to step in and tell Ricky to cool down his mouth? Does anyone remember when Ricky opened his mout during the Celtic's ten game win streak? They lost to the Knicks. Why can't our guys be cool like Shaq? I'm just saying.
Back to baseball, the Yanks lost 5-1 to the Angels last night in the Bronx. That puts them two games behind us after our rain delay. The Sox are off today, so root for John Lackey and the Halos in the Bronx.
Untill next time.
